Alberta Stock Exchange Casamiro climbs

An expected resumption of operations at the Sherwood mine gold property in the Strathcona area of Vancouver Island has given a spring boost to the Casamiro Resources issue.

Trading on 333,100 shares it gained 25 cents to close at $1.55. After around 50,000 oz grading 0.2 oz gold per ton was proven up at the old mine, Casamiro is seeking $450,000 to finance the project to a fall 1988 production date, President Merna Tattersall told The Northern Miner recently.

Some good results from Noramco’s Patricia property in the Pickle Lake area of northwestern Ontario, made Golden Shadow Resources one of the big traders this week.

With 253,300 shares changing hands, the Golden Shadow issue remained steady on 50 cents . The Toronto company holds a 15% interest in the Patricia project where some encouraging gold values were pulled from a western extensions of the Springer zone.

The zone recorded the highest recovered grade at 0.76 oz in the Pickle Crow camp. According to Golden Shadow, the Springer structure is similar to the No 1 and No 5 veins which provided a major portion of the 1.4 million oz gold previously mined from Pickle Crow.

News that exploration is about to begin on the International Baslen Enterprises’ 3,000-acre property at Val d’Or Que., continued to make Baslen a big trader.

While it dropped 7 cents to close at $1.17, Baslen was the session’s highest trader with 545,100 shares crossing the floor.

Nathan Minerals added 3 cents to its share price following the release of preliminary results from its Pro claims near Yellowknife, N.W.T. They included economic grades up to 0.7 oz gold in mineralized sedimentary rocks, Nathan says.

The Nathan issue closed at 78 cents on a volume of 19,800 shares.

Even though Seadrift International is contemplating a dewatering program at the old Aldermac mine nine miles west of Rouyn- Noranda, Que., the company dropped 14 cents from its share price to close at $2.30.

Seadrift is currently exploring the No 8 zone located several hundred ft east and about 80 ft above the deepest drift level at the old mine workings.

The company says a second massive sulphide zone occurs deeper and about 350 ft south of the No 8 zone.
