Topping the most active list at over one million shares, Argus Resources tacked on 2 cents to close at 32 cents for the week ended March 10.
The Calgary-based junior has a sizable land position in the Lac de Gras area of the Northwest Territories, where Dia Met Minerals made a significant diamond discovery at the end of last year. Several players are gearing up for summer exploration programs around Lac de Gras while they await results of a bulk sample from the Dia Met-BHP property.
The sample results are expected to be released by the end of May. Near Thunder Bay, Ont., SEG Exploration plans to spend up to $4 million over a 4-year period to earn a 60% interest in two groups of claims owned by Goldhunter Explorations.
The claims, near Springer Lake, contain two mineralized structures within a metavolcanic belt. Previous operators intersected values of up to 0.99% copper and 0.5% nickel over 43 ft.
Goldhunter lost a penny to close at 10 cents on moderate volume. Trading 234,800 shares Kingswood Explorations lost 2 cents to close at 20 cents. Kingswood believes its “Thunder zone,” recently discovered near Matheson, Ont., has open pit potential. The gold zone remains open in both strike directions and at depth.
