Akrokeri begins work on Jeni

Akrokeri-Ashanti Gold Mines (AAGM-C) has begun a trenching program on the Jeni property in Ghana’s Ashanti region.

The program, which follows three weeks of site preparation, is designed to investigate the source of gold produced by artisanal miners. Akrokeri plans to map and sample the suspected source areas.

The Toronto-based company holds, through a subsidiary, an option to acquire a half interest in the hardrock mineral rights to Jeni, along with a 100% interest in the surface mining rights.

The property is adjacent to the Esaase concession, where an 85%-owned subsidiary of Akrokeri has mined 90,000 oz. gold from surface since 1991.
