AG cuts high grades

Red-hot junior Argentina Gold (ARP-V) has released still more encouraging results from its aggressive drilling campaign at the Veladero project in northwestern Argentina.

Reverse-circulation drilling at the Filo Federico target intersected high-grade gold along the northwestern margin of the target. The program is designed to define the continuity of mineralization between Filo Federico and the nearby NW target. AG believes the two targets may link up to form a single mineralized unit. Geologic continuity between them has been observed within the volcanic sequence brecciation, as well as in the massive crystalline silicification and jarosite veinlets.

Highlights from the most recent drilling are as follows:

* Hole 121 was collared 80 metres northwest of previously reported hole 72 (192 metres averaging 1.51 grams gold and 9.94 grams silver per tonne) and cut 131 metres averaging 6.93 grams gold, starting at a down-hole depth of 19 metres. Included in this intercept was a 68-metre interval of 12.95 grams gold, starting 58 metres down-hole.

* Hole 129 was collared 100 metres west of hole 121 and intersected 43 metres averaging 5.01 grams gold, starting at a down-hole depth of 18 metres. Included in this intercept was an 8-metre section that assayed 8.35 grams gold, starting at a down-hole depth of 50 metres.

* Hole 122 was collared 100 metres southwest of hole 121 and returned 92 metres averaging 2.86 grams gold starting at a down-hole depth of 42 metres.

This included a 16-metre section of 3.63 grams gold starting 109 metres down-hole.

* Hole 128 was drilled 50 metres northwest of hole 122 and returned 118 metres averaging 0.7 gram gold starting at 52 metres down-hole. The interval included a 21-metre section of 1.44 grams gold starting at 92 metres down-hole.

* Hole 125 was collared 200 metres southwest of hole 128 and intersected 50 metres averaging 1.24 grams gold, starting at 8 metres down-hole.

* The first diamond drill hole at Filo Federico has reached a depth of 178 metres and is twinning hole 72.

* At the Amable target, hole 116 was drilled from the same platform as previously reported hole 84 (98 metres averaging 2.66 grams gold and 22.77 grams silver) and intersected 256 metres averaging 0.776 gram gold and 15.43 grams silver starting at 50 metres downhole. This included an 82-metre intercept that assayed 1.52 grams gold and 24.69 grams silver starting at the same depth. The hole was drilled to test the continuity of Amable at the southeastern end of the target and intersected the faulted contact with the volcanic hosts. Mineralization hosted in the diatreme breccias decreases once it encounters these volcanic rocks.

* Hole 113 was collared 50 metres west of previously reported hole 92 (105 metres averaging 7.67 grams gold and 52.5 grams silver) and intersected 166 metres averaging 1.1 grams gold and 46.37 grams silver starting at a down-hole depth of 42 metres. This included a 33-metre section of 2.26 grams gold and 56.27 grams silver starting at 116 metres down-hole.

* The second diamond core hole at Amable, DDA-2, has reached a depth of 225 metres in its quest to reach a target depth of 300 metres. The hole is designed to test results from RC hole 89 (193 metres averaging 1.2 grams gold and 33.3 grams silver).

* The third diamond drill hole, DDA-3, is twinning RC hole 80 (212 metres averaging 3.67 grams gold and 47.71 grams silver).

* At Amable North, Hole 118 was collared 50 metres east of Hole 111 (87 metres averaging 0.615 gram gold and 15.29 grams silver) and showed discontinuous mineralization within a long, low-grade intercept. The best assay averaged 1.01 grams gold and 22.46 grams silver over 13 metres, starting at a depth of 259 metres down-hole.

* At Eastern Filo Federico, results from hole 123, drilled 150 metres northwest of hole 91 (64 metres averaging 0.84 gram gold and 2 grams silver), returned 119 metres averaging 0.09 gram gold and 24.19 grams silver starting at depth of 231 metres down-hole. This included a 21-metre interval that assayed 0.13 gram gold and 51.3 grams silver. AG says hole 123 has confirmed the continuous distribution of border transitional and phreatic breccias along the northeastern rim of Filo Federico. Follow-up drilling will test for more intense brecciation zones associated with high-grade gold mineralization.

The company has two RC rigs spinning on the property: one at Amable North, which is drilling hole 133; the other, at Filo Federico, which is focused on hole 139.

At Western Filo Federico, assays are pending for holes 126, 130, 131 and 134-138. At Amable North, hole 124 is complete, and at the new Palito target, on the western rim of Cerro Pelado, the first hole, 127, has also been completed, with assays pending.

Argentina Gold holds a 60% operating interest in the Veladero property, with Barrick Gold (ABX-T) holding the remainder.
