A gold discovery by Adrian Resources (TSE) is enhancing the overall mineral potential of the company’s land package in Panama.
The discovery was made on La Petaquilla, a property which already hosts a geological resource of 1 billion tonnes grading 0.6% copper in two deposits, one of which is also called Petaquill;, the other, Botija.
The Molejon gold zone, 4 km south of Botija, is defined by a distinct, X-shaped, gold-in-soil geochemical anomaly. The anomaly has northwest- and northeast-trending limbs, each of which measures 1.2 by 0.3 km and contains up to 8.3 grams per tonne.
The first hole drilled to test this target returned 147.7 ft. grading 0.01% copper, 3.82 grams gold and 7.3 grams silver per tonne. As the hole was collared in a mineralized zone, the true thickness of this interval is not known. A series of vertical and inclined drill holes is planned to test the Molejon discovery further and determine the number of mineralized zones, their thickness, orientation and extent.
Adrian is encouraged by recent rock sampling within this target area, which produced positive results of up to 25.6 grams gold and 15 grams silver. Positive results up to 7.3 grams gold and 2.4 grams silver were returned from rock samples taken in the vicinity of a second drill hole that is testing the Molejon zone. This area is some 400 metres northwest of the first hole.
