A 5,400-ft-long adit has reached its first objective at the Windy Craggy copper deposit, Geddes Resources says. Located in northwestern British Columbia, the Windy Craggy deposit is in rugged, mountainous terrain.
Crosscuts from the main adit are also being driven to the north and south for 1,200 ft. This will enable eight underground drill stations to be established.
A fan drilling program will test sections of the large sulphide deposit at a spacing of 100 ft. The program, which will include at least 35,000 ft of drilling, will focus on a gold-enriched zone which was intersected by one drill hole. That hole cut 201 ft grading 1.21% copper and 0.29 oz gold per ton. The section does not represent a true width.
This program is designed to provide the information required to complete an economic assessment of the deposit. The company also plans to extend the adit by 200 ft through the deposit. This will allow the mining of a bulk sample for metallurgical testing and the completion of test mining methods.
