Adex tests Blackheart zone

As part of its option to earn a 60% interest in the Potts Falls gold project in Guyana, Adex Mining (TSE) has performed surface exploration on the Blackheart zone.

Infill and deep auger sampling have been conducted to a depth of 4-6 metres below surface, and 325 metres of trenching have been carried out to a depth of 1.5 metres below surface. However, the sampling seems not to have penetrated the weathered saprolitic profile, suggesting higher values may lie at deeper depths.

The average gold content for a 174-metre section of the main trench was 225 parts per billion, with some samples exceeding 1,000 parts per billion. Infill sampling, carried out 200 metres west of the main trench, returned similar gold values.

Adex management believes the historic production of alluvial and eluvial gold at Potts Falls, coupled with anomalous soil sample values and a favorable geological setting, indicates that the property has the potential to host a low-grade, large-tonnage, open-pit style gold deposit.
