Aboriginal Affairs and the PDAC Convention

Awards Evening, Monday March 3

The 2008 convention will inaugurate a new award to highlight aboriginal participation in the mineral industry. Named after the aboriginal leader of the group that discovered the first gold in the Klondike, the Skookum Jim Award has been created to recognize those who have demonstrated exceptional achievement and/or service in a Canadian aboriginal-run service business for the Canadian mining industry or a Canadian aboriginal exploration or mining company, or have made a significant individual contribution to the mining industry. The first Skookum Jim Award will be presented at the association’s 2008 awards evening on Monday, March 3.
