Abel Lake seeks project partner

Privately owned Abel Lake Resources is in the market for an exploration partner for its northeastern Ontario prospect following the withdrawal of property option holder Royal Oak Mines (TSE).

Abel President Harry Horton of Burlington, Ont., said Royal decided in 1991 not to make the final payment under its agreement.

The original option deal was made with Pamorex Minerals (one of a number of associated companies which now make up Royal). Horton said Pamorex worked the Holmes Twp. property near Kirkland Lake for three years; a drilling highlight was 22 ft. of core assaying 0.296 oz. gold per ton.

Staking by Pamorex added additional acreage to the Abel property, which has grown to 2,300 acres.
