50 Years Ago January 1938 LAMAQUE TAKING UP SLACK OF TECK- HUGHES

Lamaque Gold Mines is running neck and neck with Teck-Hughes and, during 1938, the new mine may overtake the parent organization in production rate and earning power. That’s what is revealed in a comparison of operating reports of the two mines for the 3-month period ended Nov 30. A point of interest in the Lamaque report is that the doubling of the milling rate was effected without loss in rate of extraction, which ran 98.1 % in November.

Analysis of the operating results for the three months ended Nov 30 demonstrates convincingly what The Northern Miner has been urging upon its readers for the past two years — that Teck-Hughes, through its interest in Lamaque, has control over an outstanding mine.
