Amex Exploration (TSXV: AMX; US-OTC AMXEF) continues to report high grade results from the Eastern gold zone of its Perron gold project, located 110 km north of Rouyn-Noranda in Quebec.
Highlights of the drilling, which focused on expanding the “High Grade Zone (HGZ)” outside of the main core of the zone, included 15.9 metres grading 15.52 grams gold per tonne starting from 848.2 metres in hole PE-22-511W3 and 11 metres grading 11.27 grams gold starting from 876 metres in hole PE-22-511W2.
“In addition to the high grade holes, the lower grade mineralization that we have been intercepting on the fringes of the system is adding significant strike and tonnage to the system which should enhance the future resource on the HGZ,” said Jacques Trottier, the company’s executive chairman, in a press release.
The property, which covers 48.4 sq. km is expected to see about 60,000 to 70,000 metres of drilling before the end of the year. Since the discovery of the HGZ at the end of 2018, Amex has drilled at least 280,000 metres in 788 holes to date.
Highlights of the drill results from the Eastern gold zone and the E2 gold zone, reported in May, included 30.9 metres grading 11.57 grams gold starting from 376.5 metres in hole PE-22-510 and 10.1 metres grading 3.71 grams gold starting from 455.5 metres in hole PEX-22-102W1.
In addition to the Perron project, the company also owns the Lebel-sur-Quévillon gold project, which consists of four properties located in north-western Quebec and the Eastmain River project, situated in the Eeyou Istchee Cree territory in James Bay, Que.
At press time, shares of Amex Exploration were trading at $1.98 per share within a 52-week trading range of $1.88 and $3.36.
