Secondary steelmaking process and continuous casting process

Manufacturing process in steel industry undergoing changes for making steel better in terms of quality, cost & delivery. Advance melting techniques like Secondary Steel Making play an important role in this direction. Quality of rolling mill products depend to a large extend on quality of continuously cast steel. Minor non metallic inclusion may cause surface defects on rolled sheet after undergoing rolling deformation. Inclusion and gas content in cast steel to be controlled before they are sent to Tundish of CCM. On tundish also, care must be taken so that there is no reoxidation and entrapment of inclusion from tundish and mould do not happen. This two days workshop has been designed to give insight of various secondary refining process, injection metallurgy along with continuous casting process.
