More than 1,400 workers at Iron Ore Co. of Canada (IOCC) went on strike in late July, shutting down mine production at the plant in Labrador, which supplies roughly 4% of the world’s iron pellets.

Kimberly buys Rescue

Coeur d’Alene-based junior Kimberly Gold Mines (KMGM-O) has bought the Rescue mine and 120-ton-per day mill in central Idaho, and intends to resume gold production there by next summer.
