Richmont’s lacklustre Q2 results

Richmont Mines (RIC-T, RIC-X) had a difficult second-quarter, posting a net loss of $30.9 million, or 92¢ per share, which included the previously released $28-million after-tax write-down on its Francoeur mine in Quebec.


TSX falls…but only a little

The holiday shortened July 3-6 period was by no means a strong one for the senior board, but it could have been worse. The TSX Composite Index fell 68 points to 11,659.96 points with the sell-off coming amidst a flurry of bad news.
