Chile-focused Altiplano Metals (TSXV: APN) is planning to produce its own copper-gold and iron concentrates at a processing facility near its Farellon exploration project, CEO Alastair McIntyre says in a new video.
The iron oxide-copper-gold project also produces 5,000 tonnes of ore per month grading about 1.8% copper, the CEO said at the Canadian Mining Symposium in London in October.
Altiplano’s almost-completed facility will be a model of environmental sustainability in Chile, McIntyre says. Its dry stack tailings system recycles 75% of its water and magnetic separation captures 40% of the tailings. That opens a secondary income stream in iron concentrate, McIntyre said in an interview with Alisha Hiyate, editor-in-chief of The Northern Miner.
