The Northern Miner’s Staff Writer Blair McBride talks to Doug Silver, 2023 Canadian Mining Hall of Fame Inductee during the recent Global Mining Symposium in Toronto.

The mining veteran explains why Canadians should be proud of their regulators, who he says do more to encourage the mining industry than do regulators in other countries.

Silver also speaks about how success in the mining world of the future will increasingly require a firm grasp of computers and technology, a set of skills he says young people are already swiftly acquiring.
