TSX Venture inches higher, Sept. 17-21

The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index rose 0.66% to 719.91.

Shares of White Gold rose 65% to $1.07. The company released strong drill assays from the Vertigo target on its JP Ross gold property in Yukon. The company says the results confirm high-grade, near-surface mineralization at Vertigo across 200 metres of strike length. Shortly after, it staked another 180 sq. km around JP Ross.

Highlights include 17.34 grams gold per tonne over 10.6 metres from 3 metres downhole, including 56.25 grams gold over 3 metres from 3 metres downhole, as well as 9.6 grams gold over 15 metres from 1.5 metres downhole, including 45 grams gold over 3 metres from 1.5 metres downhole.

The results come from 10 of 17 holes drilled on the property to follow up on GT probe results from August that returned samples as high as 29.1 grams gold. In total, the company drilled over 900 metres across the 17 rotary air-blast holes before difficult ground conditions made it switch to a reverse-circulation drill.

Shares of Great Bear Resources cooled 22¢ to $1.82, although the company continues to release positive news. The company recently revised results for a hole in the Hinge zone at its Dixie Lake gold project in Red Lake, Ontario.

It first reported the hole as 44.47 grams gold 7 metres from 124.5 metres downhole, including 224.03 grams gold over 1 metre from 125.5 metres downhole, but revised the grades to 68.76 grams gold over 7 metres, including 302.48 grams gold.

The company also recently began a 30,000-metre, 150-hole drill program at Dixie Lake that will continue into 2019.

Shares of Garibaldi Resources rose 64¢ to $2.86. The company has confirmed wide intercepts of near-surface, nickel-copper sulphide mineralization in all directions around the 2017 Discovery zone at its wholly owned Nickel Mountain project. With three drills at Nickel Mountain, the company is stepping out as much as 1.3 km northeast of the Discovery zone while continuing to step out in all directions.

Highlights so far include 30.5 metres from 102 metres downhole grading 3.1% nickel, 1.86% copper, 0.08% cobalt, 0.8 grams platinum, 1.77 grams palladium, 0.7 gram gold and 7.3 grams silver, as well as 34 metres from 110 metres downhole grading 2.4% nickel, 1.49% copper, 0.06% cobalt, 0.69 gram platinum, 1.31 grams palladium, 0.48 gram gold and 5.7 grams silver.

The company also says melting ice at Nickel Mountain has revealed a ring of mineralization that includes massive sulphide outcrops and a massive sulphide boulder train in an area next to the Discovery zone. The company says it will drill test this area for nickel-copper mineralization.
