Jacobs Engineering Group opens Nevada office

With an eye toward Nevada’s mining industry, professional services firm Jacobs Engineering Group (NYSE: JEC) has announced it will open an office in Elko.

The firm hopes to better serve resource companies with a variety of engineering, construction and maintenance services, which include: project planning, studies, engineering, procurement, construction, construction management, operations, decommissioning and closure, and mine-infrastructure requirements.

“Expanding our presence in Nevada enables us to more closely partner with local clients to understand their businesses and objectives on a deeper level over the long-term,” Jacobs vice-president Stephen Axcell stated. “Our local capability is enhanced by our global mining experience across some of the world’s most technically challenging projects.”

Headquartered in Pasadena, Calif., Jacobs is a Fortune 500 company, with US$12 billion in annual revenue and more than 70,000 employees.
