Richfield releases more Blackwater results

Vancouver – Another round of drill results from the Blackwater gold project means more long gold hits for Richfield Ventures (RVC-V).

Hole 106 hit 205 metres grading 2.04 grams gold per tonne, including 81 metres carrying 4.33 grams gold. The hole was drilled 70 metres northeast of hole 76, which last fall returned 90 metres grading 3.02 grams gold, and 111 metres northeast of hole 78, which last fall cut 59 metres carrying 2.11 grams gold.

The company reports that holes 106, 76 and 78 outline an area of roughly 7,000 sq. km of near-surface high grade.

Hole 107 returned 260 metres carrying 0.59 gram gold from 87 metres. Hole 108 returned 30 metres carrying 3.99 grams gold from 127 metres as well as a number of other mineralized sections.

Earlier in January the company released further results from Blackwater. Hole 103, collared near the western edge of the gold zone, returned 222 metres carrying 1.23 grams gold. The hole was drilled 73 metres southwest of hole 68, which last summer returned 227 metres carrying 1.51 grams gold.

In the earlier release, holes 98, 99 and 102 fenced off the western edge of the gold zone.

The company is still awaiting results for seven holes drilled near the end of last year. Richfield plans to re-start drilling very shortly.

Richfield’s share price was up 20¢ or 5.3% to close at $4 on a day that saw the Venture drop 45.92 points and gold continue its current downward trend. The company has climbed from a 52-week low of 87¢ in late June to hitting a 52-week high of $5.10 in November.
