Tinka reports metallurgical recoveries of 90-97% at Colquipucro

Tinka Resources (TK-V) has completed metallurgical testing on its Colquipucro silver project in west-central Peru.

Recoveries ranged from 90-97% with cyanide consumption of 3.5 to 8 kg per tonne after leaching for 72 hours, the company reports.

Tinka president and CEO, Andrew Carter, says the silver leaching kinetics were very fast for both composites.

“Such significant characteristics will have a positive impact on projected operating costs and financial return from any possible mining project at Colquipucro, and will provide a significant economic advantage for additional mineralization along the main structural zone,” Carter said in a statement.

The company tested two composite samples from the main mineralized zone. Tests included head grade analysis, gravity separation and cyanidation. Sample head grades averaged 79.7 grams silver per tonne and 132.1 grams silver per tonne.

Zone 1 of the Colquipurcro project has an inferred resource of 5.7 million tonnes grading 111 grams silver per tonne for 20.3 million oz. of silver.
