Equipment-supply company Atlas Copco has combined its portable air operations and its construction tools business in the U. S. into the joint entity Atlas Copco Construction Equipment, to better target the construction market.
The new organization, which is headquartered in Commerce City, Colo., will share offices with the Atlas Copco Construction Mining Technique USA customer centre. Although both companies will act independently, they will share resources.
As part of its new business structure, the company will gather sales and servicing of compressors, generators, and pneumatic, hydraulic and gasoline-powered construction and demolition tools under one umbrella.
“We are looking at this as an opportunity to become more focused and dedicated, specializing on the unique needs of the construction industry,” said Erik Sparby, general manager of Atlas Copco Construction Equipment in a release.
In addition to the union between the two companies and a new office, the joint entity will break down its customer base into North, South and West United States sales and services regions.
