North Bay, Ont.-based mining contractor The Redpath Group has cemented its place in the Australian mining sector through its acquisition of Eroc Pty. Ltd.
Eroc, a mining contractor based in Brisbane, has operations at BHP Billiton’s (BHP-N, BHP-a) Cannington and Cliffs mines in Western Australia, Aditya Birla Minerals’ (ABWAF-O, ABY-a)Nifty mine in Western Australia, and Ok Tedi Mining’s Ok Tedi mine, in Papua New Guinea.
Established in 1968, Eroc is active in underground metals and coal mine development, as well as underground civil infrastructure work.
As a result of the acquisition, both Redpath and Eroc will be able to increase their services globally.
