Don Lindsay was appointed President of Teck Cominco January 2005, and President and Chief Executive Officer April 2005. Previous to joining Teck Cominco, Don was President of CIBC World Markets and was responsible for both the Investment and Corporate Banking Division as well as the bank’s Asia Pacific Region. Earlier in his career he was Head of CIBC’s Global Mining Group. Don has a BSc, (Hons.) Mining Engineering from Queens University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

AARON W. REGENT President of Falconbridge
Aaron was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Falconbridge in June 2002. Upon completion of the merger of Noranda and Falconbridge in June 2005, he became President of the new company, which retained the name Falconbridge. Prior to his current role, he was most recently Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Noranda (2000-2002), President and Chief Executive Officer of Trilon Securities (1996-2000) and Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Brascan (1992-1996). Aaron has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario since 1991 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario. Aaron is the Chairman of the Nickel Development Institute and a member of the Board of Directors of Compaia Minera Doa Ins de Collahuasi (Chile), the C.D. Howe Institute, the National Ballet of Canada and The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation.

TOM ALBANESE Chief Executive, Copper
& Exploration, Rio Tinto
Tom Albanese was appointed chief executive of the Exploration Group in July 2004 and took over responsibility of Copper in September 2004
In his current responsibilities, he is accountable for the worldwide exploration efforts of the Rio Tinto Group in four geographically based teams covering Africa/Europe, Australasia, North America and South America. In addition a small Project Generation team pursues new opportunities throughout the world. Rio Tinto’s Copper group comprises Kennecott Utah Copper and Kennecott Minerals in the U.S. and interests in the copper mines of Escondida in Chile, Grasberg in Indonesia, Northparkes in Australia and Palabora in South Africa.
Tom Albanese was appointed chief executive of the Industrial Minerals Group of Rio Tinto in November 2000. At the time of his appointment, the group was restructured to comprise Rio Tinto Borax, Rio Tinto Iron and Titanium and Talc de Luzenac.
Immediately prior to his appointment, Tom was managing director of North Ltd. following its acquisition by Rio Tinto in the summer of 2000. Before his appointment to North, he was vice-president, engineering and technical services at Kennecott Utah Copper in the United States.
Before joining Rio Tinto in 1993, Tom held a number of positions with Nerco. Following the acquisition of Nerco by Kennecott in 1993, Tom took up the position of general manager of the Greens Creek mine in Alaska. In 1995, he transferred to Rio Tinto’s headquarters in London as group exploration executive. He returned to the U.S. in 1998 to take up his position with Kennecott Utah Copper.
Tom holds a BS in mineral economics and an MS in mining engineering.

TIM SNIDER President and Chief Operating Officer of Phelps Dodge
Tim joined Phelps Dodge in 1970 at the company’s copper operations in Brisbee, Arizona and has held positions of increasing responsibility both in the Untied States and South America. He was instrumental in the development and implementation of solution extraction/electrowinning technology, which has become a major competitive advantage for Phelps Dodge’s mining operations. Tim was elected president of Phelps Dodge Mining and a senior vice president of Phelps Dodge in 1998. He earned a BSc in chemistry and geology from Northern Arizona University in 1979 and completed the advanced management program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1996.
