More silver at Navidad

Vancouver — IMA Exploration (IMR-V) has confirmed silver in trenching at the Loma De La Plata zone, part of the Navidad project in the Patagonia region of Argentina.

Three main zones contain 268 million oz. silver and 1.75 million tonnes lead in 80.8 million tonnes grading 103 grams silver and 1.45% lead. The estimate is based on a cutoff grade of 50 grams silver-equivalent per tonne.

The inferred resource for the same zones at the same cutoff grade is 39.3 million oz. silver and 70,500 tonnes lead in 15.7 million tonnes of material grading 78 grams silver and 0.45% lead.

The updated independent resource includes the Galena Hill, Navidad Hill and Connector deposits. This estimate is based on IMA’s second phase of drilling, which tested the Navidad Hill and Connector zones. The Galena Hill resource remains unchanged.

IMA is sinking more holes to test the extent of the Navidad Hill deposit in an effort to increase the resource. So far, the Navidad Hill estimate is defined by results from 41 diamond drill holes in a 400-sq.-metre area within 100 metres of surface.

The new resource estimate at the Connector zone replaces portions of the previously reported Galena Hill inferred resource.

The Connector zone is also still open in several directions, and the resources are mostly inferred.

IMA says third-phase drilling there should advance a good portion of the inferred resources to the indicated category.

Meanwhile, trenching has yielded high silver grades for the Loma De La Plata zone, discovered 4 km west of Galena Hill in November 2004.

Results from the first set of channel rock samples at Loma Plata are fairly consistent over the first seven of 12 lines sampled. A total of 153 samples ranged from 0.7 to 2.5 metres in length and returned 4 to 4,740 grams silver.

Results are highlighted by:

q 40.1 metres grading 740 grams silver on Line 1;

q 39.4 metres of 322 grams silver on Line 2;

q 42.9 metres of 684 grams silver on Line 3; and

q 48.5 metres grading 304 grams silver per tonne on Line 7.

The first seven lines cover an area measuring 190 by 250 metres.

In an effort to test for a potential parallel trend southeast of Loma de la Plata, IMA has completed another soil and rock sampling grid
