Geoscience awards up for grabs

The Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada is offering several awards, bursaries, and scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in earth sciences at Canadian universities.

Full-time graduate students undertaking a geoscience thesis with a focus on mapping are eligible for the recently instituted Mary-Claire Ward Geoscience Award. The award is worth $3,000 and includes a certificate. The application deadline is Jan. 15, 2005.

Meanwhile, the Women’s Association of the Mining Industry of Canada Foundation is providing a series of scholarships, bursaries and awards to undergraduate students in the earth sciences at educational institutions and technical schools across Canada. The deadline for applications is June 4, 2005. Further details are available at the PDAC web site.
