LRX underground at Midnight

In an underground exploration program at the Midnight gold property in Rossland, B.C., LRX Capital (VSE) is testing the vein system for its high-grade potential.

The mine is a small-scale past-producer dating back to the 1890s. Recent channel sampling of the Baker vein, which is exposed in the back of a drift in an area not previously mined, returned a weighted average grade of 1.37 oz. per ton across a width of 5.4 ft. for a length of 40 ft. The company further tested the western extension of the zone with four underground drill holes, and plans are in place to follow the structure updip with two 75-ft. raises — all in preparation for mining a 10,000-ton bulk sample.

LRX director George Sanders describes the company as being a salvage-type operator of small mines with existing infrastructure and high-grade potential.
