Canchrome boosts project tonnage

A new reserve figure has been calculated by Canchrome Mines (ME) for its Reed-Belanger chromite property 10 km south of Thetford Mines, Que.

The new figure, 5.5 million tonnes grading 6.63% Cr2O3, is derived from a winter drilling program involving 58 holes. The program outlined a zone over a longitudinal section 550 metres in length.

The figure includes 4.15 million tonnes at 6.69% in the probable category and 1.35 million tonnes at 6.44% in the possible category.

Above the 200-metre level and minable by open pit methods are an estimated 4.64 million tonnes grading 6.54%.

Canchrome said the tonnage calculation does not include any of the three newly discovered chromite zones on the property.
