MINING IN MEXICO — Placer acquires Mulatos properties

Upon selling its 49% interest in silver-zinc-lead mine owner Minera Real de Angeles earlier this year, Placer Dome (TSE) proceeded to acquire the Mulatos gold properties of Minera Real in Sonora state.

Placer plans a drilling program for the properties, which are in the Sierra Madre mountains.

The sole owner of the Minera Real mine, which was closed in April because of falling metal prices, is Empresas Frisco.
