After carrying out a limited exploration program, aunit of Noranda (TSE) has decided not to continue its option onthe Merry Widow property owned by Taywin Resources (VSE) on Vancouver Island in southwestern British Columbia. Noranda Exploration completed six drill holes totalling 1,900 ft. to testseveral geophysical anomalies on the gold-copper property. Thisdrilling encountered mineralization in one of the six holes, thebest results being 4.5 ft. of 0.66% copper, 1.8 ft. of 0.22 oz. gold and 0.45% copper, and 1.5 ft. of 0.05 oz. gold and 7.39%copper.
The known gold-copper mineralization in the Merry Widow pit, drilled earlier by Taywin, was not further explored in Noranda’sprogram.
Taywin intends to continue exploring the property this spring, including a strong anomaly discovered last fall that could not bedrilled under winter conditions. Director Robert Watts said thejunior is involved in discussions with a number of other partiesthat have expressed interest in the property.
