Willingdon acquires three properties

To complement the silver property portfolio it hopes to gain through a proposed merger with Sandy K Mines, Willingdon Resources (CDN) has picked up three properties in northeastern Ontario.

The junior company acquired the properties from some of its shareholders in return for reimbursing their out-of-pocket expenditures to the tune of $30,000.

Situated in Haultain, Farr and Coleman twps., the prospects all contain high-grade silver and/or cobalt veins. The Haultain Twp. property in the Gowganda silver camp has several veins partially developed by a combination of adits and a 2-compartment shaft. The Farr Twp. property, near Elk Lake, Ont., has a similar network of workings from which several thousand ounces of silver and thousands of pounds of copper and cobalt were produced in 1954.

A program of geophysics, drifting and raising has been recommended for the Farr Twp. property by Derry, Michener, Booth and Wahl.
