San Andreas hits high-grade zinc

Newly listed San Andreas Resources (VSE) has intersected high-grade lead-zinc values over significant widths at its Prairie Creek mine property about 300 miles west of Yellowknife, N.W.T.

Testing depth extensions of zone 3, one of 12 zones on the property, hole PC-92-1 hit 20.7 ft. grading 28.8% zinc, 20.4% lead, 0.53% copper, 0.17% cadmium and 8.4 oz. silver per ton at a depth of 546 ft. Hole PC-92-2 returned 22 ft. grading 9.23% zinc and 20.5% lead. A third hole intersected two high-grade intervals 20.7 ft. averaging 18.8% zinc and 18.9% lead and 30.8 ft. averaging 23.3% zinc and 23.3% lead.

Hole PC-92-1 was drilled to intersect the mine’s main structure about 165 ft. below the 2850 level between crosscuts 4 and 5. Holes PC-92-2 and PC-92-3 were drilled 165 ft. and 330 ft. respectively below the first hole. Zone 3 contains most of the property’s proven, probable and possible reserves of two million tons grading 11.8% zinc, 10.8% lead, 0.42% copper and 5.3 oz. silver per ton. San Andreas estimates that the recent drilling has increased reserves by about 270,000 tons.
