Researchers study salvaging pillars in permafrost

One project will study how mine pillars can be salvaged in permafrost and another will model potential failure zones in the permafrost. Together the projects will cost $325,000.

Nanisivik Mines and CANMET will co-operate on the projects, which are being funded by Energy Mines and Resources and the Government of the Northwest Territories.
