Van Ollie recently completed a program of surface stripping and trenching over three separate quartz veins, and drilled two holes testing at least one vein system.
Assays from the drilling program include a 7-ft intersection grading 0.914 oz gold per ton in hole No 1, and 1.5 ft grading 0.387 oz gold in hole No 2. A total of 603 ft of drilling in two holes was completed on the Smith vein system.
Surface sampling with rock saws also yielded several high grade results from the Smith vein, in an area west of an old shaft. Among the better assays were 10.6 ft grading 0.33 oz gold, 9.4 ft of 0.479 oz, 8.2 ft of 0.81 oz, and 5.8 ft grading 3.77 oz.
The company said it has submitted an application to the Ministry of Labour in order to begin dewatering the old Sunrise shaft later this month.
Trenching was also completed along the Captain vein, beginning near the Smith shaft and progressing westward to Trout Creek. Sampling of that area is planned, too. The Road vein was extended by a distance of 82 ft, the company said.
