Bay Resources & Services, a company controlled by St. Genevieve Resources of Montreal, and joint- venture partners Stratmin Inc. and Jilby Industries, both of which have been recently listed in Montreal, have received assay and metallurgical results from the first small bulk sample taken from the Fontana gold property in Duverny Twp. near Amos, Que.
The 100-ton sample, which was processed by the Quebec Centre for Mineral Research in Quebec City, returned an average assay of 0.17 oz gold per ton.
Total recoveries were 90%-60% by gravity and 40% from cyanidation.
Two recent drill holes, the deepest on the property so far, cut mineralization grading 0.089 and 0.364 oz over 7.0 and 5.3 ft respectively at depths of 1,400 and 1,500 ft.
Other noteworthy drilling results include an 8.2-ft intersection grading 0.154 oz at a depth of 400 ft, a 2.4-ft intersection grading 0.45 oz, a 4.9-ft section averaging 0.262 oz and a 5.1-ft intersection grading 1.43 oz, according to a company release.
One drill continues to drill on the property.
An old shaft on the property has been dewatered and a ramp has been collared.
