Assays are expected shortly from a 7,000-ft drill program under way on Beaufield Resources gold prospect in Douay Twp., Que. Located east of Joutel, the 111-claim property ties on to the boundary of the Inco Ltd. and Vior Inc. project to the north.
The 30-hole program is testing geophysical targets near the common claim boundary. A previous operator, Northern Mattagami Mines, drilled several holes in this area which cut sulphide mineralization but which were never assayed for gold.
Another drill program is also in progress at Beaufield’s Bachelor Lake area property, also in Quebec. Previous operators intersected copper-zinc mineralization with low grade gold values in drilling.
