Some of the best results from the Noranda-Freewest property in Harker and Holloway twps., Ont., came in this week, including a 64-ft. section grading 0.43 oz. gold per ton. The downdip and western extensions of the gold-bearing zone run through an adjacent property optioned from Teddy Bear Valley Mines. Trading 700 shares, Teddy Bear remained unchanged at $1.30 for the week ended Aug. 21. Next summer, Legacy Explorations plans to probe a group of mining claims near Cobalt, Ont., for deep base metal deposits. According to an agreement with Agnico- Eagle Mines, which owns the claims, Legacy will spend $500,000 on drilling to earn a 50% interest in the property. Legacy was 10 cents bid for the week.

Pending shareholder approval, Blackjack Resources will amalgamate with two private resource firms. The new company will continue to explore the gold properties held by the three companies in Ontario and Newfoundland. Last week, Blackjack traded at 58 cents.

To reflect its new oil and gas interests, Milestone Resource has changed its name to Horizontal Petroleum Exploration. The newly named company still has an interest in two Manitoba nickel properties, and will continue to trade on the over-the-counter exchange.

Salvatore Fuda, Mariela Fuda, and Vivienne Bailey have become the new directors of Platinum Resources of Canada. Ann Cowie, from Hudson, Que., has acquired control of Park Place Platinum.
