Grant helps women engineering students

A grant of $40,000 has been awarded by Energy, Mines and Resources Canada to the 1989 Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation for scholarships for women engineering students. According to the federal ministry, women fill 3% of the engineering positions in Canada. The foundation is a non-profit charitable organization which to date has received more than $500,000 from public and private-sector sources.
