Keno mines on hold

In view of recent silver prices, management of United Keno Hill Mines (TSE) decided not to begin commercial production at its silver-lead-zinc properties in the Keno-Galena Hills area of the Yukon. The company said rehabilitation and development work at the former producing properties was successful, which forced a decision to either begin production or place operations on standby.

The company decided it was not prudent to begin production “at this time.” Operations will be maintained in a standby condition pending conditions that will permit the start of mining and milling activities.
