Toronto ’94 promises to be a “really big show” when it convenes next May. Four events will take place May 1-4 under the Toronto ’94 banner: * the 96th annual general meeting of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM);
* the annual Mineral Outlook Conference sponsored by the Mining Association of Canada, the Mineral Economics Society and the federal government; * AGGPAC ’94, the first international aggregates and quarrying conference in Canada; and,
* Health & Safety ’94, Canada’s largest health and safety convention and trade show.
The CIM show will include a technical program featuring prominent speakers from all disciplines within the industry. The CIM will also sponsor its own trade show, Tradex ’94, which has already sold out.
Four field trips will be offered: the Hemlo gold camp in northwestern Ontario; Sudbury, Ont. (either a tour of an underground mine or a metallurgical tour of smelter and refining operations and sulphur abatement advances); Lakefield Research facilities in Peterborough, Ont.; and the AGGPAC ’94 in-pit demonstration and trade show at a quarry northwest of Toronto.
To register, write to Jackie Luke at Toronto ’94, 555 Burnhamthorpe Rd., Suite 607, Toronto, Ont. M9C 2Y3.
