NRCan in JV

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has teamed with COREM, a mineral research institute in Quebec City, in an effort to develop mining-related technology.

The joint venture will focus on improving energy efficiency and protecting the environment.

“This alliance will allow us to improve the ways we develop our mineral resources,” says Herbert Dhaliwal, minister of NRCan.

COREM was founded in 1999 and is funded by 12 member companies and the Quebec government. It also receives federal funding, through the Economic Development Agency of Canada for Quebec Regions.
