CIM holds seminar in Kirkland Lake

The core shack seminar will be held at the Northern College of Applied Arts & Technology in Kirkland Lake, Ont., April 18-19. Malcolm Slack, director of the Kirkland Lake Branch of The Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, will be guest speaker. Topic is the polymetallic operation being created by Deak Resources and GSR Mining at the old Kerr mine, east of Kirkland Lake, to mill the ore of area mines. Participants will have the opportunity to view exploration activities in the area despite the phasing out of flow-through funding. Encouraging intersections, for example, have been reported from 13 properties.
