Alberta Stock Exchange BMR sheds 19 cents

Most junior gold stocks remained unchanged or moved slightly lower during the week ended April 17 as the price of bullion remained in a bearish trend. With more drilling planned at its America mine project in California, BMR Gold drifted 19 cents lower to close at $1.30 on volume of 26,500 shares. Environmental studies are continuing on the project where reserves on the order of 500,000 oz. are currently reported in the drill-indicated category, according to BMR.

Savanna Resources traded 133,700 shares in the 23-30 cents range to close at 29 cents. Savanna is in discussions with senior mining companies regarding a possible joint venture on its Turner-Albright gold- copper-zinc deposit in southern Oregon.

Louisiana Mining gained 8 cents to close at 25 cents on thin volume. The company has signed a letter of intent to acquire a 51% interest in the Tyrone Extension copper project in southwest New Mexico from Frank Mashburn.

Planning to do more drilling on the Key Lake property it optioned from Placer Dome in Lindsley Twp., Ont., Golden Crescent was active at $1.75 on volume of 198,600 shares. The spring diamond drilling program will test for extensions of known gold zones.

Pelham Gold gained 4 cents to close at 28 cents on volume of 205,500 shares, while Northfield Minerals slipped 4 cents lower to close at $1.40 on volume of 11,000 shares. Northfield is acquiring control of the Cheminis gold mine near Kirkland Lake, Ont., where an exploration program is scheduled to get under way this month.

Integrated Resources, which is exploring a gold property in the Telegraph Creek area of northwestern British Columbia, gained 4 cents to close at 31 cents.

Lucas Gold gained 5 cents to close at $1.50 on volume of 27,400 shares. The company owns a gold property 20 miles north of Timmins, Ont.

Shares of Marshall Minerals shed 24 cents to close at $1.35. Marshall owns more than 50% of Eden Roc Mineral, which is developing the Ivory Coast gold concession in Africa.
