“A follow-up program is being developed to test the most promising anomalies,” said Shamrock President Ulli Rath. The company completed 22.5 km of Max Min electromagnetic surveys on the Blom claims where two promising anomalies are to be drill- tested. “A remapping of the property has confirmed the geology is very similar to that hosting the Smatosum mine,” said Rath.
On the company’s Cana claims, a new area has also been identified for follow-up drill testing. The southern boundary of the Cana claims adjoins the Minnova/Rea Gold property on which the Samatosum copper-zinc-silver mine is being brought into production.
Under a previous agreement, Esso Minerals had the right to earn a 51% interest in Shamrock’s Cana claims, but Esso’s exploration properties were sold to Homestake Mining (Canada) earlier this year. Shamrock said discussions will be initiated with Homestake on the most appropriate manner to drill and evaluate the Cana property.
