Results from two recent holes, 1,000 metres north of the original showing, include 49 ft grading 0.36% nickel and 0.11% copper, and 71 ft of 0.28% nickel and 0.15% copper. Another hole intersected 53 ft of 0.42% nickel and 0.16% copper, and 25 ft grading 0.35% nickel and 0.19% copper. The intersections were obtained at shallow depths of 100-200 ft.
Drilling to the south of the original showing has intersected only low grade nickel-copper values, the company reports. Surface exploration including drilling is also under way on several other claim blocks owned by McNickel in the Lac St. Jean area.
To date, 158 holes have been completed on the option property, covering a total of 8,000 ft of strike length. Preliminary calculations of potential tonnages and grades indicated by the drilling are expected sometime next month, the company says.
