With diamond drilling expected soon, the shares of McNickel Inc. remain active, however. The company is preparing to drill its copper- nickel property in Quebec next month. McNickel saw nearly 17,000 of its shares traded at $3.75-$3.30 this week.
Regal Goldfields, another company holding claims near Lac St. Jean, Que., gained 5 cents on moderate volume. There were ten trades of Regal Goldfields in the 95 cents -$1.05 range.
Sindor Resources saw active trading in the $1.25-$1.15 range. The company is busy developing a copper property in the U.S. and has 14 gold-silver exploration prospects in its portfolio.
Among the few advancing issues was Victoria Graphite with light trading at $1.60-$1.90. This Ottawa- based junior firm is exploring graphite properties with hopes of cashing in on potential demand for that black mineral.
Down slightly on the week was South American Goldfields, which backed off 7 cents to trade at 65 cents . Results are expected this summer from work on its seven joint venture projects currently under way in Guyana.
Porcupine Balmoral Resources has branched out into the restaurant business with the recent acquisition of two seafood franchises in Ajax and Whitby. The restaurants are called “Peter the Fisherman.” A company spokesman said the acquisitions were completed a few weeks ago.
Canadian Gold Resources was active at 25 cents -28 cents . The company is exploring a Chester Twp. gold property near Gogama, Ont., and a grassroots base metals bet north of Pickle Lake, Ont.
