Edmonton-based Gamsan Resources (ASE) has raised $317,000 for drilling on its Brabant Lake polymetallic property in Saskatchewan.
Gamsan says an initial 1,000-m drill program will be under way soon on the 100%-owned property, which hosts known copper-zinc sulphide mineralization.
During a recent soil geochemistry program conducted by Gamsan on the Brabant Lake property, samples yielding 10 to 16 g per ton silver and 0.2% copper were obtained. Trenching below these samples revealed massive sphalerite- chalcopyrite-galena mineralization hosted by biotite gneisses. Geophysical surveys indicate that the metalliferous zone continues for a strike length of at least 1,000 m.
The current drill program will test for deep and lateral extensions to a zone of known mineralization previously encountered (McKenzie Zone) and will seek new gold-silver bearing targets on the property.
Initial funding for the drill program is being provided by two flow- through share offerings. The first, for $117,000 at $1 per share, was arranged with Bayford, Merrifield Inc. The second, for $200,000 at 75 , was arranged through NIM Resource 1988 Co. Ltd. Partnership of Vancouver.
