On the Move (October 03, 1988)

The new Komatsu Dresser Co. of Libertyville, Ill., has elected a 6-member management committee. They are: John Murphy, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Dresser Inc.; Masao Tanaka, president of Komatsu Ltd.; George Korb, Dresser senior vice-president, operations; Takeshi Yokota, managing director of Komatsu; Ralph Ytterberg, chairman and ceo of Komatsu Dresser; and Haruhiko Umeda, president and chief operating officer of Komatsu Dresser Co. William Quinn has been made general manager of the Harnischfeger Institute training centre in New Berlin, Wis. Also, Lynne Pearson has been appointed director of management training. Aeroquip (Canada) Inc’s new marketing manager is Peter Coulen. He joined the equipment manufacturer in 1977 as a sales representative and was promoted to regional sales manager in 1982. In 1986 he was promoted to manager, market development. Peter Nixon has been appointed president and chief executive officer of The Algoma Steel Corp. Since 1959, he has held various operating and management positions within the company. In 1981 he was appointed president and chief operating officer. Also, G. B. Hudson has been appointed vice-president- commercial. He was previously vice-president-sales.
