Results of a recent drill program on the Chappelle project in the Toodoggone area of British Columbia has led Multinational Resources (VSE) to the conclusion that economic grades are restricted to below the 5,750-ft level on its B Zone structure. Only one of seven shallow holes hit respectable values (11 ft of 0.11 oz gold and 0.76 oz silver per ton) and the company says it will now evaluate extensions to the B zone shoot by geophysical and geochemical surveys before doing more drilling. Previous drilling on the B zone had indicated 50,000 tons grading 0.587 oz gold and 5.16 oz silver.
Two other zones on the property will be mechanically trenched prior to drilling and more work is planned for other targets in the western half of the property (within 1 mile of the B zone and the existing 100 ton per day mill on the property). The company says detailed surface sampling on one of these targets, the C vein, yielded gold and silver values over sample lengths of more than 5 ft while previous drilling west of the vein intersected 15-20 ft of quartz with anomalous gold values and silver grades of up to 3.55 oz ton. Multinational says recent geophysical and geochemical work indicates the structure may be more extensive than previously recognized; consequently more drilling is planned.
