A second-phase drill program has been completed by partners Dejour Mines (TSE) and Noble Peak Resources (ASE) on their Turquetil gold property. Located 140 miles southwest of Rankin Inlet, N.W.T., the property was examined by 34,000 ft of diamond drilling in 64 holes.
The drill program has outlined a gold and sulphide mineralized zone striking for 3,083 ft within a broad zone of iron carbonate alteration. Some of the best holes include No 35 which assayed 0.269 oz gold per ton across 27.9 ft. Hole 32 intersected 6.9 ft grading 0.227 oz whereas hole 29 cut 9.8 ft grading 0.265 oz. The last three holes suggest the zone is open at depth, Dejour says.
Based on the encouraging results, Dejour, the project operator, expects a sizeable drill program for 1989. Dejour and Noble Peak share the property equally.
