The Korean economy recorded an annual growth rate of 8.3% during the period 1962-1985 and is expected to grow 7.2% a year during the remaining 1980s. This study points out the high complementarity between the Canadian and Korean economies and specifically examines the Korean market for Canadian minerals. The author details Korea’s procurement policies for coal, uranium and potash and offers concrete suggestions for improving Canada/Korean economic relations.
